A Vacation In The Mentalist

Author: Kamika Manning

If I could vacation in any fictional world, I think I finally know where I’d go.

I’d choose the world of The Mentalist.

Not because I’m looking to solve murders or get myself caught up in someone else’s investigation. Absolutely not. 😂

I’d want to experience the world through the eyes of Patrick Jane.

Imagine being able to walk into a room, sit down with complete strangers, and notice all the little things everyone else misses. The nervous glance. The awkward pause. The wedding ring someone keeps twisting around their finger. The tiny details that tell a much bigger story.

I’d spend my vacation people-watching, enjoying the California sunshine and probably testing Jane every chance I got.

I’d tell him a completely random story just to see if he could figure out whether I was lying.

Although knowing Patrick Jane, he’d probably look at me for five seconds and say, “You’re trying to fool me.”

And I’d have to admit defeat. 😂

There’s something fascinating about a world where observation is almost a superpower.

So yes, give me The Mentalist for a vacation.

The mystery.

The sunshine.

The people-watching.

The mind games.

The fascinating characters.

Just leave the murders off the itinerary, please.

I’m on holiday. 😂
