What’s the Best Thing I’ve Ever Found on the Street?

Money? Jewellery? A phone?

Nope.

The best thing I’ve ever found on the street was a reminder.

A reminder that not everything valuable comes with a price tag.

Sometimes, you can be walking down the road, lost in your thoughts, worrying about yesterday or trying to figure out tomorrow, when something completely ordinary catches your attention.

Maybe it’s a stranger smiling at you.

Someone helping an elderly person cross the road.

A child laughing without a care in the world.

A handwritten note that someone dropped.

A flower growing stubbornly through a crack in the pavement.

And for a moment, you stop.

You notice.

And perhaps that is the real treasure.

Because life has a funny way of leaving little reminders in our path. We’re often so busy looking for the big things—the breakthrough, the opportunity, the answered prayer—that we overlook the small gifts scattered right in front of us.

I’ve learned that sometimes the best things we find aren’t things at all.

They’re moments.

They’re lessons.

They’re unexpected reminders that we’re still moving forward.

And if I’m being completely honest, the greatest thing I’ve ever found on the street may have been perspective.

It didn’t cost me a penny.

But it was worth everything.

So, what about you?

What’s the best thing you’ve ever found on the street?

And was it something you could put in your pocket—or something you carried with you long after you walked away?
