Join me for original spoken word and poetry that celebrates the light within.

stay Aware. Stay protected. Stay you.

Safety Isn’t Paranoia — It’s Power

There’s a difference between living in fear and moving with awareness.

Whether you’re stepping out into the streets on a regular day or getting dressed for a night out, safety isn’t about shrinking yourself—it’s about protecting your energy, your body, and your peace.

We don’t talk about that enough.

Because somewhere along the line, people made it seem like being cautious meant you were anxious. Like checking your surroundings meant you were overthinking. Like trusting your instincts made you dramatic.

But let me tell you something clearly:

Your awareness is not a weakness. It’s wisdom.

🌆 Street Safety — Moving With Intention

When you’re outside, be present.

Not glued to your phone.
Not lost in distractions.
Not disconnected from your surroundings.

Walk like you know where you’re going—even if you don’t. Confidence shifts how people perceive you.

Keep your belongings close. Crossbody bags over loose straps. Keys ready before you reach your door. Small habits that make a big difference.

And most importantly—listen to your gut.

If a street feels off, it probably is.
If a person feels off, don’t second-guess yourself.

You don’t owe anyone politeness at the expense of your safety.

🌙 Night Out Safety — Enjoy, But Stay Grounded

You deserve to have fun. To laugh loudly. To dance freely. To take up space.

But stay rooted.

Go out with people you trust—and stick together. The “I’ll be right back” moments? Those are where people get separated. Keep tabs on each other without turning it into a chore.

Watch your drinks.
Not obsessively—but intentionally.

If you didn’t see it poured, think twice. If you put it down and lose sight of it, leave it.

It’s not wasteful. It’s wise.

Make sure your phone is charged. Share your location with someone you trust. Have a rough plan for getting home before the night even begins.

Because the goal isn’t just to have a good night—
it’s to make it home safely too.

🧠 The Mindset Shift

Safety isn’t about expecting the worst.

It’s about being prepared enough that you don’t have to panic if something feels off.

It’s knowing that:

  • You can leave early
  • You can say no
  • You can change your mind
  • You can choose yourself—every single time

No explanation needed.

💬 Final Thought

You don’t have to dim your light to stay safe.

But you do have to protect it.

Move smart. Stay aware. Trust yourself.

Because the strongest thing you can be—
is safe and still fully yourself.
