WordPress Daily Prompt: What’s My Favourite Restaurant?
Funny enough, my favourite restaurants aren’t just around the corner… they’re about four thousand miles away, right in the heart of Kingston, Jamaica.
There’s something about food back home that just hits differently. It’s not just the flavour—it’s the vibe, the people, the memories wrapped up in every bite.
If I had to name a few, I’d start with Gloria’s. Fresh seafood, the ocean breeze, and that unmistakable taste of home. You don’t just eat there—you experience it.
Then there’s The Regency Restaurant at The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. A little more refined, a little more polished—but still carrying that rich Jamaican soul in every dish.
I can’t forget Devon House I-Scream at Devon House. Because sometimes your favourite “restaurant” moment is really about that perfect scoop of ice cream on a hot day, surrounded by history and good energy.
And of course, the everyday heroes:
Island Grill—quick, tasty, and always reliable.
Tastee Patties—because nothing beats a proper Jamaican patty when you need that instant comfort.
These places aren’t just restaurants to me. They’re reminders of where I come from. They’re laughter, family, sunshine, and that feeling you can’t quite put into words.
So while I might be here, a part of me is always there—pulling up a chair, ordering something delicious, and soaking it all in.
